Door Sills

Form vs Function.  Generally I prefer function because as a race car driver I prefer winning over looking good.

However, occasionally inexpensive items can look good and provide function.  Protecting the paint work in the door sill area is a case in point.  I searched ebay and found some very inexpensive steel sill covers and ordered them from HK-PLUS.

As of May 16th, I await delivery and it looks like these are coming from Singapore so it might be a while.

May 31st: I tried to fit the door sills today - not a happy experience.  The sills arrive flat requiring one to bend them to go over the lip.  Unfortunately the lip is nicely rounded and bending the door sill covers to the same shape requires tools and skill I don't posses.  I fitted the rears but my attempt to bend one of the front ones to shape left me in no doubt that install would yield a failure leaving me wishing I hadn't started - so I abandoned my attempt.

Conclusion

A small amount of money wasted.  Door sills are a nice idea but these aren't the ones to use.  I need to look for a more custom solution and/or consider using a professional.
